Terms of service

Last updated 27 October 2026

1. About these Terms

1.1. These Terms are an agreement between Sharp Tech Pty Ltd (ACN 688 622 291) of New South Wales, Australia ("Sharp Tech", "we", "us", "our") and the business that holds an Alumetric account ("you", "your").

1.2. By creating an account, clicking "Accept" or using Alumetric, you agree to these Terms. If you accept them for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business.

1.3. Alumetric is a business tool for aluminium window and door fabricators. You must be at least 18 years old to use it, and it is not supplied for personal, domestic or household use.

1.4. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, published at www.alumetric.com.au, form part of these Terms. If they conflict, these Terms prevail, except on how we handle personal information, where the Privacy Policy prevails.

2. Definitions

  • Alumetric means the Alumetric desktop application for Windows and macOS, the Alumetric mobile app for iOS and Android, our servers and online services, and their updates and documentation.
  • Account means the Alumetric account registered to your business.
  • Subscription means your paid plan and any add-ons, such as additional machines, an AI plan or a storage plan.
  • Authorised Machine means a computer registered to your Account under your Subscription.
  • Customer Content means all information that you or your users enter into, upload to or create with Alumetric. It includes designs, projects, quotes, invoices, settings, engineering data, your company details, your customers' details and documents.
  • AI Features means the assistant, voice, document extraction, price-list import and any other feature of Alumetric that uses artificial intelligence.

3. Your Account

3.1. You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.

3.2. You may let your employees and contractors use Alumetric on your Authorised Machines for your business. You are responsible for their use and for everything done under your Account.

3.3. Keep your password and devices secure and do not share your login outside your business. Tell us promptly at info@alumetric.com.au if you believe your Account has been misused.

3.4. Your Subscription covers a set number of Authorised Machines. You may move your licence to a new machine through Alumetric, subject to verification and a waiting period between moves. We may refuse a move that appears intended to share the licence beyond your Subscription.

4. Licence

4.1. While your Subscription is active and paid, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the desktop application on your Authorised Machines and the mobile app on your devices, solely for your internal business purposes.

4.2. You must not sublicense, rent, lease, lend, sell or redistribute Alumetric, or use it to provide fabrication, design or estimating services as a bureau for other businesses.

4.3. Alumetric needs an internet connection. It signs in and checks your Subscription periodically, and it may stop working on versions older than our minimum supported version until you update.

5. Subscriptions, payment and cancellation

5.1. Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your nominated payment method for each billing period and any add-ons you choose.

5.2. Prices are shown at the time of purchase, in the currency for your country. GST and other taxes are added where the law requires.

5.3. Your Subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the billing page in Alumetric. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5.4. If a payment fails, we may allow a short grace period. After the grace period, or once your Subscription ends, Alumetric stops signing in, syncing, updating and downloading data until you renew. Your data on your own devices stays there.

5.5. We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in Alumetric, and the new price will apply from your first renewal after the notice period. You may cancel before the new price applies.

5.6. Refunds are dealt with under our Refund Policy and the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Your content

6.1. You own your Customer Content. We claim no ownership of it.

6.2. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, convert, transmit and display your Customer Content, in Australia and overseas as described in the Privacy Policy, only as needed to provide Alumetric and support to you and to comply with the law. We do not use your Customer Content for any other purpose.

6.3. You are responsible for your Customer Content. This includes making sure it is accurate and lawful, that you have the right to use it, and that you have collected your customers' personal information lawfully.

6.4. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of data stored on your devices. We keep backups of our servers for disaster recovery, but we do not guarantee that deleted or lost Customer Content can be recovered.

7. Desktop application

7.1. When you use the Alumetric desktop application, the Desktop Application Schedule shown in that application also forms part of these Terms. You accept it when you accept these Terms in the application.

8. Your responsibility for what you build

8.1. Alumetric is a design and estimating tool. Quotes, prices, cutting lists, glass and material schedules, drawings, labels, wind and glazing checks, glazing certificates and other outputs are generated from your Customer Content and your settings.

8.2. You are responsible for checking every output before you rely on it, and for the design, engineering, fabrication and installation of everything you build. You are also responsible for complying with the building codes, standards and other laws that apply where the work is carried out. In Australia these include the National Construction Code and Australian Standards such as AS 2047 and AS 1288.

8.3. Glazing certificates and similar documents are issued by you, in your name. Sharp Tech does not inspect, certify or warrant that any product complies with any standard.

8.4. 3D views and rendered images are illustrations only.

8.5. Alumetric can check items against a wind rating, engineering tables, glass data and safety-glazing rules, and can suggest changes. These checks are aids only. Their results depend on the ratings, tables, rules and other data and settings you choose or enter, and results shown as indicative are estimates that are not based on tested data. A check is not engineering advice or certification, and it does not show that a product is suitable or compliant. Before you rely on a check, you must confirm the wind rating for the site, the structural adequacy of each product and the safety glazing required, using certified or tested data for the products you use, the codes and standards that apply and, where required, a qualified engineer.

8.6. Alumetric may include starting data, such as wind-rating schemes, design pressures, safety-glazing rules and calculation settings, based on published codes and standards. We provide it for convenience only. It may not be current, complete or right for your location or project. You are responsible for checking it against the code or standard that applies to your work and for changing it where needed.

9. AI Features

9.1. AI Features can produce answers, extracted items, wind ratings, transcriptions and imported prices that are incomplete or wrong. Check them before you rely on them.

9.2. Content you give AI Features is processed by Google as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not give AI Features information you are not entitled to share, or sensitive information they do not need.

9.3. AI Features may be subject to usage allowances that depend on your plan. We may change the AI models and limits we use to keep the service reliable.

10. Emails and documents you send

10.1. When you send quotes, invoices, receipts, reminders, certificates or reports through Alumetric, you are the sender. You are responsible for their content and for having the right to contact each recipient.

10.2. If you turn on reminders for an invoice, we send them to your customer on your behalf on the schedule you choose, until you turn them off or the invoice is fully paid.

10.3. You must comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Do not use Alumetric to send marketing or bulk email. Daily sending limits apply.

11. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • (a) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to derive the source code of Alumetric, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • (b) circumvent or disable any licensing, security, authentication or protection mechanism;
  • (c) share your login outside your business or use Alumetric on machines that are not Authorised Machines;
  • (d) try to access another customer's data or any part of our systems you are not authorised to use;
  • (e) upload content you are not entitled to use, or anything unlawful, infringing or malicious;
  • (f) use Alumetric in a way that could damage, disable, overload or impair our servers or services; or
  • (g) remove or alter any proprietary notice in Alumetric.

12. Our intellectual property

12.1. Alumetric, including its code, designs, interfaces and documentation, and the Alumetric and Sharp Tech names and logos, belong to Sharp Tech or its licensors. These Terms give you no ownership of them, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.

12.2. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.

13. Privacy

13.1. We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

13.2. When you enter your customers' details into Alumetric, you are the business collecting that information. You are responsible for collecting it lawfully, telling those people how you use it, and dealing with their requests. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to you, you must comply with it.

14. Availability and changes to Alumetric

14.1. We work to keep Alumetric available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. It also relies on third-party services such as Google Cloud and Stripe.

14.2. We may update, add or change features. If a change materially reduces the core features you have paid for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of any prepaid fees.

15. Suspension, termination and remote deactivation

15.1. You may cancel at any time under clause 5.3, and you may ask us to delete your Account as described in the Privacy Policy.

15.2. We may suspend or end your access:

  • (a) if payment remains outstanding after any grace period;
  • (b) if you materially breach these Terms and do not fix the breach within 14 days after we notify you;
  • (c) immediately, if you commit a serious breach of clause 3.4, 4.2 or 11, or of the Desktop Application Schedule; or
  • (d) if the law requires us to.

15.3. Remote deactivation on breach. If you (a) use Alumetric without an active, paid Subscription; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, tamper with, or try to circumvent the licensing, authentication or protection mechanisms of Alumetric; (c) copy, share, sublicense or distribute Alumetric or any data delivered for your Account outside your business, or run Alumetric on machines beyond those authorised for your Subscription; or (d) otherwise materially breach these Terms, then we may, without further notice, remotely deactivate the desktop application on any device on which it is installed under your Account and cause it to remove itself from that device. This includes its program files, the data and settings delivered for your Account, and its locally stored application data, including the local project data folder that holds your projects, quotes and invoices.

15.4. Your backups. You are solely responsible for keeping current backups of the projects, quotes, invoices, documents and other data you create with Alumetric. We hold no copy of your locally stored data and are not liable for its loss after a deactivation under clause 15.3.

15.5. We use clause 15.3 only for the breaches it describes. Nothing in clauses 15.3 or 15.4 excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

15.6. When your access ends, your licence ends and you must stop using Alumetric. Data stored on your own devices remains yours, except as described in clause 15.3. We delete your cloud data as described in the Privacy Policy.

15.7. Clauses 6, 8, 12, 15.3 to 15.6, 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21 survive the end of these Terms.

16. Consumer guarantees and warranties

16.1. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16.2. Where the Australian Consumer Law allows it, our liability for failing to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

16.3. Otherwise, Alumetric is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that Alumetric or its outputs are accurate, complete, fit for a particular purpose or compliant with any standard.

17. Limitation of liability

17.1. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, data or goodwill, wasted materials, rework, delays, or loss arising from your failure to check outputs as required by clause 8.2, 8.5 or 8.6.

17.2. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms or Alumetric is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

17.3. Our liability is reduced to the extent that you, your users or your Customer Content caused or contributed to the loss.

18. Indemnity

18.1. You indemnify us against any loss, damage or cost, including reasonable legal costs, arising from a claim by a third party, to the extent the claim arises from:

  • (a) Customer Content or other material you supplied, including a claim that it infringes intellectual property rights or breaches a confidentiality obligation;
  • (b) your breach of these Terms or of the law;
  • (c) emails and documents sent through your Account; or
  • (d) products you design, fabricate, sell or install.

18.2. Your liability under clause 18.1 is reduced to the extent that the loss was caused by our breach of these Terms or our negligence.

18.3. We will tell you promptly about any claim covered by clause 18.1 and let you take part in its defence.

19. Changes to these Terms

19.1. We may update these Terms. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a material change by email or in Alumetric, and we may ask you to accept the new Terms in Alumetric. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect, and we will refund the unused part of any prepaid fees. If you keep using Alumetric after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

19.2. A change required by law, or needed urgently for security, may take effect sooner.

20. Disputes and governing law

20.1. If a dispute arises, either of us may give the other written notice of it. We will both try in good faith to resolve it within 20 business days before starting court proceedings, except for urgent interim relief.

20.2. These Terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. Both of us submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

21. General

21.1. These Terms, the Desktop Application Schedule, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the entire agreement between us about Alumetric.

21.2. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest continues in force.

21.3. A failure or delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.

21.4. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to a successor of our business by giving you notice.

21.5. Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.

21.6. We may give you notices by email to your Account's email address or in Alumetric. You may give us notices at info@alumetric.com.au.
